Looking to purchase your own chromebook?
Some parents have asked about purchasing their own chromebook for use at home. Here are some things to look for:
Any brand will be fine. HP, Lenovo, Dell, Acer and Samsung are all good brands
At least 4GB of RAM
Atleast 16GB of Storage (32GB is better)
The model students use at school are 11". This is sufficient for student use, but 13" and 15.6" sizes are also available if you wish.
Touchscreen is optional, and may be a feature you want. We do not use any software that requires touchscreen
Do not purchase chromebooks from discount sites such as Groupon, DailySteals, or Banggood. Many times, these are old devices that will no longer receive updates from Google. Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy are your best bets right now.
Always try to purchase new, and not refurbished.
