6th grade: In 6th grade Art, students will explore the world of visual art through the exploration of different materials, processes, and art history. Students will build on their knowledge of the elements of art, principles of design, and color theory. Throughout this 9 week course, students will develop and practice creative thinking and problem solving skills centered around four main categories: create/ make, artistic foundations, responding, and presenting.

8th grade: Students in 8th grade art will have the opportunity to explore different art materials while learning about the foundations of art. They will experience the creative process that artist work through while finding their voice in the visual arts. Students will have the opportunity to investigate other artists to see how they use the creative process and communicate through the visual arts.
