PARENT MEETING - WED, APRIL 9th 6pm Falmouth High School LIBRARY
Coaches will meet with all parents to welcome them to Ultimate and explain how the team and season will run. We will give you an overview of the season, walk you through the registration process, collect dues, and answer any questions you may have. Wednesday, April 9th at 6pm in the Falmouth High School Library.
FLEET Ultimate (a Falmouth-Waynflete co-op) is comprised of players from Falmouth High School and Waynflete School (in Portland). We have four teams: Girls-matching (girls), Open (boys) A and Open (boys) B, and Mixed. All genders are welcome and players may play on more than one team.
The season will begin in mid-March and continue to the beginning of June. See the Schedule page for details.
We play in the Maine Ultimate High School League and have league games scheduled every Tuesday from mid-April to June 1st.
Players that are interested in playing a more competitive level of Ultimate can choose to play in a variety of weekend tournaments that our team has elected to attend:
Southern Maine Invite: May 4th at Wainwright
Pioneer Valley Invite: May 17-18
Open/Boys B and/or Mixed State Championships: May 25th
Open/Boys A & Girl-Matching State Championships: May 31st
Team Dues will be $125/student - they cover league and tournament fees, a team jersey, and field costs. We recognize that this is a significant charge and never want cost to be a barrier to play. If you need assistance, reach out privately to: fhsultimate@gmail.com.
Ultimate Frisbee is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is an exciting, fast-paced, non-contact team sport. It includes self-officiating and embodies the “spirit of the game” which promotes good sportsmanship and personal responsibility. It combines the athleticism of running and quick changes of direction with the skill of throwing.
Games are played on a large field (like soccer or football) and there are 7 players on a side. Visit USA Ultimate to find out more, watch some videos and more.
