If you have ANY questions, please feel free to contact me through Class DOJO or at soea_cockril@tccsa.net!
There will be NO distance learning activities planned for our spring break, the week of April 6.
Some parents have expressed that their child is finding it difficult to continue practicing the CVC nonsense word list that was sent home in the learning packet. If this is true for your child, I suggest clicking the "CVC Words" document to the left and printing it for your child to practice tapping and blending sounds! These are "REAL" words and may provide more purpose for your child's reading practice!

Please encourage your child to follow the 5 star rules of writing! As they are writing, they should consider each of these rules we have discussed in class!
Remember: Do NOT spell for your child! Encourage them to tap out each sound that they hear and write those sounds! I know that this will be hard, but continue to encourage them that they CAN do it! Writing is the most difficult skill for most kindergarten students at this point!
The Fundations curriculum is what we follow for teaching phonics to kindergarten students. By clicking on this picture, you can access a document that gives you the picture clues that we have learned to help students retain the letter name and the sound that it makes! This may be a helpful chart to have displayed in your home so that children can refer to it when writing and reading!
