American History
This course covers the history of the United States starting with early Native American culture and continuing through Reconstruction following the Civil War. We will examine the growth of our early country from a small group of colonies into an independent country. We will then look at the divisions that led to the Civil War and finally the lasting impact of that war on America today.

About Me
About Me
My name is Mr. Moore and I am the social studies teacher on Dream Team. I graduated from Decatur Central High School and IUPUI. My first experience at Lynhurst was as a student teacher. Once I graduated college, I taught at Creston Middle School in Warren Township for 3 years. I was then lucky enough to get back to Lynhurst where I have spent the last 5 years teaching 7th and 8th grade history.
My wife Alisha and I have been married for 5 years. We have a daughter named Charlotte who will be 2 years old in October. We also have a dog named Lucy. She is a boxer mix and is 8 years old. In my free time I enjoy travelling, hiking, playing pool, and reading.
I love studying history. I believe that history can help us to better understand today. My favorite time period to study is the revolutionary era in American history and ancient civilizations in world history. I also enjoy studying how governments work and how people have fought for their rights throughout history. I am very excited to start a new year with all of you!
