Thank you for registering for the Job Skills Demonstration A contest at Area 31 Career Center on January 30, 2026. Our judges are eager to see your demonstrations. As you finalize your presentation, please note these important guidelines:
Prohibited devices: No cellphones, watches, or other timekeeping aids are allowed in the competition room.
Resume: Resumes are not required at the regional competition. If you advance to state, you will need to provide one.
Dress: We will not observe the official SkillsUSA dress code. Please dress either as you would for a job interview or according to your program’s dress expectations.
Competition reminders:
On entry, provide your index card (issued at the contest) with your competition number, skill, and program of study clearly printed.
You have 3 minutes for setup; an assistant or model may help with setup.
Presentations must be between 5 and 7 minutes.
You must perform an actual skill.
Models may not assist you with the presentation, they are there as your demonstration tool.
You may show items to the judges but may not hand anything to them.
Any visual aids (signs, charts, slides, diagrams, recordings, etc.) must be prepared by the competitor.
Do not provide any identifying information during your presentation (name, school, city, or state).
You have 3 minutes to clear your presentation; an assistant or model may help with teardown.
Personal note: If your skill could make a mess on the floor, please consider bringing a drop cloth.
