In fifth grade, students learn a wide variety of mathematical skills including how to explain and demonstrate multiplication of common fractions relating that to division. They use problem-solving strategies to determine operations needed to solve one- and two-step problems involving addition, subtraction, and multiplication of fractions. They explain and demonstrate multiplication of decimals to hundredths. They solve real-world problems using strategies to determine operations needed, and solve one- and two-step problems involving addition, subtraction, and multiplication of decimals.
One of the core resources that we use to build fundamental math skills in fifth grade is our math textbook. Students are encourage to preview and practice the lessons covered in class in the math book at home. To access any of reading book, follow the steps listed below.
Log in to RapidIdentity/My Wayne Identity by going to https://mywayne.wayne.k12.in.us. Students use the same username and password on RapidIdentity that they use to log in to use their Chromebook.
Click on the Pearson EasyBridge app. (A picture of this app is shown to the left.)
Click on the Pearson Realize button located on the lower right side of your screen. (A picture of this button is shown to the left.)
Click on the enVision Math Common Core button located on the left side of the screen. (A picture of this button is shown to the left.)
You are now able to access the Student Interactive eTextbook. Students will need to know what topic they are working on in class as well as what lesson they are covering in that topic. (i.e. Topic 4 Lesson 4-6)
