Downtown Wayland is looking for WUS groups to help decorate local business windows for Homecoming Week, September 21st - 25th! They’re hoping to showcase a variety of groups from across the district, including student councils, clubs, athletic teams, and more, representing each of our school buildings. If your group is interested in participating, contact Elizabeth Stein at steine@waylandunion.org. Window assignments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to reach out soon if you’d like to participate!
Wayland Union Schools is partnering with the Wayland Fire Department in the Junior Cadet Program to help students learn about fire, rescue, and emergency medical services. The program requirements
16 years or older
Live within the fire jurisdiction of the Wayland Fire dept.
Maintain at least a C in every class
Good driving record
Adherence to the Wayland FD’s Employee Handbook
Adherence to the Youth Employment Act
Meet the requirements set by the Junior Cadet Lead Advisor & Fire Chief

If you purchased a 2026 yearbook and are missing pages 153-160, respond to the email from yearbook by Monday Aug 31st to get a new one.

Solid colors and a simple head and shoulder shot looks best in the yearbook.

Juniors and Seniors! Those of you with a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher will receive an invitation on Friday to fill out a candidate form for Wayland Union High School's chapter of National Honor Society. If you are interested in joining our chapter, read the invitation carefully and complete the form by the due date. If you are selected to join the program, you will be notified during the NHS breakfast on Friday, September 18. Why might you want to join NHS? National Honor Society is a nationally recognized program that showcases academic achievement, builds leadership skills, and gives access to exclusive college scholarships.
Speaking of NHS, meeting days have been switched to the first Tuesday of each month! Our first meeting will be on September 1st, at 7 in the morning, in the media center.

The football season got off to a phenomenal start for the JV and Freshmen Wildcats! Both Wildcat squads got the win over Stevensville Lakeshore Thursday night. JV by a score of 24-6. The Freshmen won 12-6, after losing a few key players to injury. Great job fellas!
