State Case Count, Wayland Average Daily Incidence/100k

The state's data lags by one week, so values shown are for the 14 days ending the week prior to the date on the graph.

State New Cases/Day = number of new cases announced each day across state of Massachusetts, averaged over seven days (i.e., the value shown for each day is for that day, and the six prior). Source: Raw Data report on this page

Wayland Avg Daily Incidence = average number of new cases per day in Wayland over past two weeks scaled to 100,000 population (e.g., the September 9 value is for the total cases for the two weeks ending September 9 divided by 14 divided by Wayland's population and multiplied by 100,000). The color coding of the bars reflects the Massachusetts map color-coding. The cutoffs (and added positivity requirements) have changed as of 11/4/20. State Positivity, Average Daily Incidence/100k in Surrounding Towns

This data is smoothed as a seven-day weighted average (weighted by number of tests each day). This chart last updated with data through 8/25/21

The state's data lags by one week, so values shown are for the 14 days ending the week prior to the date on the graph. For time series of surrounding towns two week average daily rate, click here.

State Positivity = % positive across the state of Massachusetts (blue line divides each day's positive tests for first-time test takers by the number of first-time test takers, purple line divides by total tests conducted, regardless of whether the same individual was tested many times), gold line is calculated the same as the purple one but removes the repeat higher education testing. MA began by reporting the blue line, and subsequently switched to the purple one as its main metric, though it continued to report both. On November 2, the state stopped reporting the blue line, and switched to the gold one. Source for positivity data: COVID-19 Dashboard on this page

Average Daily Rate/100k = average daily new case rate (scaled to 100,000 population) for Wayland, surrounding towns and Boston over the two weeks ending on the date in the title of the chart. The color coding of the bars reflects the Massachusetts map color-coding. The cutoffs (and added positivity requirements) have changed as of 11/4/20. Source: Weekly COVID-19 Health Report on this page
