Learning G, A, B, C

Hello 4th graders!  

Here's what we're up to this week in lessons:

• Echoing patterns of  brand new notes, low G, A, B & C  (see chart above to review how to play them!! Very exciting!  You can find these notes on page 26 of the book.

• Learning how to play a G scale

• Playing exercises on pg. 26 and talking about how to read the music for our new notes 

In orchestra this week, we:

• Reviewed good position 

• Reviewed how to follow a conductor

• Reviewed  the melody of a new song called  "French Folk Song", moving our bows slowly on each dotted half note and holding it for 3 full beats 

• Looked at French Folk Song Harmony 1, labeled as little as possible, and noticed steps and repeats.  Then we tried Melody and Harmony 1 together!

Your assignment for next time is:

#93-97 in the book & French Folk song ( master melody and Harmony 1! How much can you do without labeling?  Great practicers will go on to Harmony 2!)
