Hello 5th graders!
This week we are learning about extensions! Extensions help us play sharp accidentals to raise the pitch higher. Violin and viola players will extend the 3rd fingers, and cellos will extend the 4th finger (and 2nd with it). Bass will use a new finger entirely instead of extending. We reviewed extensions on pg. 12-15, utilizing new notes and extensions on a variety of strings for each instrument!
In orchestra, we are moving towards final concert preparation! We'll also start our final piece this week, Winter Wonderland!
