Hi 3rd graders!
Here is what we are doing in class this week. If you were away and missed our lesson, be sure to copy the notes for "Can Can" in your book before the next strings class!
D scale in a round - 2 parts, then 3 parts!
Frere Jacques in a round
Echoing patterns on various notes - can you hear what notes they are? Are they moving in steps? Skips?
Starting our newest (and final) concert tune, Can Can (#92 in the book)!! We will label the A part "Can Can" together (see images below, and copy into your book if you missed it!) We used the same shapes to show when patterns of notes repeated, so we only had to label each pattern of notes one time! (Many classes we did not label the D scale at the end of line 1.). The notes in between the shapes are all D's, A's, and E's.
Playing through each shape in Can Can. If time, we'll listen to a recording of the original!
Reviewing Cripple Creek, a little at a time, then playing through.
If time -- ending with Bile 'em Cabbage Down: Melody, Harmony, Improv, Fancy Ending!
HW: #92. Review other concert songs: #88, 89, 91, 188
