Hello 3rd Graders!
Here's what we're doing this week:
Tuning with long bows, dividing our bows into 8, 4 and 2 beats
Playing D scale with 2 beats per bow, REALLY connecting every note!
Quick note reading review: playing a few of the flash slides on the A string (see below)
Reviewing Lightly Row! (Remember - you should all know part A by now -- learn B if you want to make the tune more beautiful in the concert! In classes I'll take a volunteer to demonstrate it as a duet with me.)
Adding our final concert song: CRIPPLE CREEK! (Click to watch a video of it!) This will be your next karate belt song!
Then, while the class is left hand practicing Can Can, we'll hear lots of purple belts (Frere Jacques) and we'll finish with a class performance of Can Can.
Or try to play THIS online note reading game!
Or - keep using your handy flashcards! :)
Check your work labeling Cripple Creek below, and have fun practicing!
In class today, we CIRCLED measures 1 and 3 because they are the same!
We put a RECTANGLE around measures 1 and 3 of this line. Remember, only label the shapes once!
