Hi 3rd graders,
Next week is our String Jamboree Concert! We are playing the following songs:
Ode to Joy - do you remember which parts to play? Try with THIS playalong recdeording!
Golden Grove - use the tab above to find the main "3rd grade strings" page and use last week's playalong recordings!
String Jam Twinkle - you will receive this paper in class (Monday/Tuesday classes will get it next week). See below if you need to print another copy!
Practice extra hard this week to get yourself ready for the concert! Remember, we have also started our March Madness practice challenge - a fun way to spend more time with your instrument in the month of March. Record all of your practice time in your March Madness calendar to get a fun prize at the end of the month. Top practicers will earn a special prize!
But WHAT should I practice?
Here are some ideas of how you can use your practice time:
Run through your flashcards a few times. How many can you get right?
Play through your concert tunes. Do you love your sound? Can you try using even more bow?
Make up some new variations to use with the D scale or Twinkle.
Do some long bow challenges. How many beats can you make your bow last for?
Re-do our winter concert, but do it all with your bow.
Have someone make a video of you playing. Watch it and see what you think!
Go back to the start of the book and see how many songs you can play wtih your bow! Can you try some that we skipped?
Play through your concert tunes again, but this time use a playalong track from this website!
Make up a song of your own using the notes of the D scale! Can you even try writing it down on the music staff?
You be the teacher! Can you teach someone in your house how to play your instrument? What position tips can you give them?
Look ahead in the book... can you learn some new notes on your own?
