Hi 3rd graders!
Here's what we did in class this week:
Played along with THIS VIDEO to practice dividing our bow up into sections
Played a D scale with different rhythms, and heard yellow karate belt tryouts
Reviewed Twinkle Variations - we even got to try some variations composed by students in the class! Be sure to write your own variation if you haven't yet! The Mississippi Hot Dog version will be the grand, grand finale for String Jamboree!
Listened to and started our Grand Finale, Golden Grove. This will be performed by over 500 musicians!! Remember that it sounds WAAAAAAAY harder than it is -- your part is ONLY open strings! Listen to the recording here, and you can print out a new part below if you missed class or lost yours!
Played through Ode to Joy. Can you get the whole way through confidently by now?
Here is a PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT- try playing through it at home!
And remember, if you still need to finish labeling, you can look at the previous week's post on this blog to get all the answers. (Click on "Elementary Strings" at the top of the page, then "3rd Grade").
