Hi 3rd graders!
Here's what we're doing in classes this week!
Reviewing the concepts of "elbow elevator" AND steady beat as we pluck, and then bow, along with this video!
Reviewing our note reading sentences and how to figure out lines and spaces, using #61-62 in the book.
Playing a D scale with long smooth bows to earn our YELLOW KARATE BELTS as a class!
Reviewing the notes of Ode to Joy and playing it with our bows (see last week's post if you need to re-print it!)
Watching some of these variations on Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star by Mozart. Can you still hear the melody, or the idea of the melody, amidst all of Mozart's Twinkle Variations?
Trying some of our own Twinkle Variations! We tried playing some of the rhythms at the bottom of the page and then learned how to do them to the tune of Twinkle. For example, instead of starting the song with two D's and two A's, start it by playing the rhythm of "Mississippi Hot Dog" on the D string, then again on the A string! Can you write in the rhythms for the words included below, and then make up some of your own Twinkle Variations this week? See below if you need to print a new copy!
The assignment for next week is:
