Hi 3rd graders!
We are really moving along now. Here's what you should now comfortably be able to do to to get ready for our December concert coming up!
Play all notes D-B
Pluck with a confident sound moving in both steps and skips!
Pencil bow hold: try to do around 3 a day! Can you get 12-15 per week?
All of the following songs COULD be concert songs -- really master them!
DAD song/Hot Cross Buns duet
We Will Rock You
Any songs on pages 8 & 9
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (binder page)
And, new this week:
Jingle Bells (#41) (this is usually the grand finale for grades 3, 4 & 5 together!
This week in lessons, we:
Reviewed the notes we've learned so far, and played through some old songs using those notes.
Worked on note reading and writing with a new worksheet (see below, bottom of this page!)
Labeled Jingle Bells!
Reviewed our bow holds on a pencil.
Your assignment for next class is to really get yourself ready for the concert by practicing your concert music listed above. Also, try to make real progress on your BOW PERMIT so you can get your license!
LABELED Jingle Bells!
Please print the correct page for your instrument below if you missed strings this week, or copy the notes into your book (page 14, song #41), so you can begin practicing Jingle Bells! It's much easier than you'd think! Remember, no need to label the repeated notes -- we want our eyes to be looking at the music notes, not the alphabet letters, so the less we label, the better! :)
VIOLIN
VIOLA
CELLO & BASS
HERE is the front of the note reading page we worked on today. (Different for each instrument)
HERE is the back of the note reading page we worked on today.
Make this your best practicing week! See if you can master Twinkle and Jingle Bells!
