Here's what we're doing in classes this week:
Playing a D scale in half notes, then quarter notes, then even faster (du-de's, or 8th notes)!
Working on note reading by using the slides below. Try them at home!
Learning a new tune - Frere Jacques. We are only labeling each pattern once, and circling it to indicate that it gets repeated. We are NOT labeling every note, but instead trying to make our eyes look at the notes and not just letters! If you missed class or would like help reviewing it, please watch THIS VIDEO!
Your assignment is to really master Frere Jacques! Also you received "This Old Man" as a fun bonus if you'd like to try it!
Remember to mark your minutes on your practice calendar. Can you start at the beginning of the book and see how much you can play? Practicing old songs is still great practicing!
