Hello 5th graders!
This week in lessons, we reviewed 16th notes and learned 16th/8th note patterns!
We tried playing along with this video, both speaking the rhythms and using body percussion. Use it as a warmup when you're practicing!
We reviewed pages 16-17 and moved on to page 18, dotted eighth notes with 16th! This rhythm is like tying together three 16th notes, with one by itself at the end.
Remember, the patterns we played before were:
du-ta-de-ta (16th notes)
du-ta DE (16th-8th), and
DU de-ta (8th-16th).
The new pattern is: Du-ta. Here is what it looks like:
The assignment for this week is to review all of page 18, and as much as possible of our String Jam tunes! (See previous week's post for recordings!)
