Welcome to my website! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. Please use this site as a resource for information that I would like to share with you.
I feel fortunate to be in my fifteenth year at Loker School. Before teaching at Loker School, I taught First Grade for eight years in Newton, Massachusetts before coming to Loker. I have a degree in Psychology from UMass/Amherst and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Lesley University.
When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my husband, son (who is a sophomore at the Wayland High School) , my daughter (who is a Seventh Grader at Wayland Middle School), and our black lab Summit. I also love being outside, running, reading, and going out to eat!
It is very important to me to get to know each child in my class as an individual. "I Can't" are two words that are discouraged in our classroom-- we talk a lot about ways to ask for help and to know that with support, each child CAN accomplish anything! I work hard to get to know each student and his/her family as I feel the home-school connection to be essential for the success of each of my students. With warmth, humor, and high expectations, I feel that the students in my class gain confidence, skills, and an excitement for learning which I hope will stay with them their whole learning career.
