5 Mile Hike To & Through Greenways Conservation Land
1. Leave at 9 and walk along sidewalk, side streets, and private lands to Greenways.
2. Snack and play at picnic table.
3. Three classroom rotations:
A hike through forest and meadow studying the land, observing multiple habitats, and discussing watersheds.
Ponding at the river's edge with nets, buckets, and microscopes to observe the macroinvertebrates and other creatures.
Stopping at the river's edge to test the water's phosphate and oxygen levels and study related maps.
4. Lunch, play, and a hike back to school along the Aqueduct.
