In kindergarten, first and second grade physical education our students work on locomotor skills such as walking, jogging, running, skipping, etc., spacial awareness (using general space and self-space), both manipulative (throwing, catching, rolling, kicking, striking and dribbling) and non-manipulative skills (turning, twisting, and stretching), directions, pathways and effort (fast, medium, and slow). We always practice our skills through fun activities and games that allow each student to progress at their own appropriate pace. We generally revisit each skill many times throughout the year so students have an opportunity to grow and develop their skills over the course of the whole school year.
