Aydan and Lorry

Hi I’m Aydan and my sibling was Lorry. It was so much fun to spend two months with him and we had a lot of fun together. He loved going on walks around Wayland with the dogs and playing games with the family. We brought him to a Red Sox game, a boxing class, apple picking, and much more. The two months flew by and before we knew it, it was time for him to leave. I can’t wait to see him again in April.

Audrey and Linda

It was an amazing eight weeks while Linda Liu stayed with my family and me. It was very exciting to have a sister for a short while. She loved music, and would often sing along in the car. I was so impressed with her amazing singing, piano and love for music. We played many board games and went on so many amazing trips. We went shopping together, to museums, colleges, restaurants and on many more excursions. I had an amazing time getting to know Linda better. She was very quiet at first, but soon we became good friends. I am very excited to see her again in China!

Marc & David

Once David was in the car with us on the way back from the airport, I knew he was gonna fit in with our family. He was making jokes and laughing, and he had remarkable English. I could tell that he was comfortable at our house. He was like having another brother. Bill and I taught him and Tony how to play lacrosse and he picked up it really quickly. Having him for 8 weeks was really fun and it was like always having a friend at the house. I hope we gave him an experience that will last forever. I’m super excited to having my own experience in China. I’m looking forward to learning about his family in Beijing.

Juliette & James

James was very interested in learning about life in America, and he was always open to trying new things. He loved trying new American foods and would eat anything my mom made. He enjoyed exploring and going to different places around Wayland and Boston. James was a little shy when he first got to America, be he quickly got better at speaking English and became much more talkative. We had lots of fun together at battleship cove, football games, apple picking, and other outings such as going out to dinner with our family. I feel like over the trip, we got much closer and I think he enjoyed his time here a lot. I am excited to reunite with James and stay with his family in china for 8 weeks. I hope to make many more memories with our exchange students in when we go to China.

Billy & Tony

As soon as Tony came to Wayland, there wasn’t a single one of my friends or family who didn’t want to meet him or be around him. Tony always has a smile and would always make the best out of every situation. As time went on and his stay got longer, we started to feel more and more comfortable around each other. He came to my lacrosse tournaments, we went out to eat, and every new encounter he came across was just another adventure that he was excited to take. Tony resembled a perfect influence for me and my peers as an ambassador to make a first impression for Chinese culture and people. I'm so excited about seeing him in China soon and building a stronger bond by living in his home.

Emmie & Aspen

I had the pleasure of hosting Aspen at my house this fall. The two months he was with me flew by before I knew it. His time in Wayland consisted of playing a lot of games, walks around town, apple picking, a Boston Red Sox game, trips into Boston, trick or treating, and a party with my friends on Halloween night. Although the time felt short, we made many memories that I will never forget. Aspen was such a great addition in my house, and his positive spirit could put a smile on anyone’s face. My family and I miss Aspen already, and I cannot wait to live with him and his family this spring.

Duncan & Haoyuan

This is He HaoYuan, the exchange student who became a part of my family, for a short period of time, from September to November. HaoYuan was and is a very skillful teacher, managing to teach my family and me. many words, without ever growing impatient. Though HaoYuan was here for a full two months, the time flew by, unlike the time between his departure and my arrival. Sometimes, when I struggle to get all of my work done, I am awestruck at how HaoYuan was able to complete homework from WPS, and the JSYY. HaoYuan, though quiet and studious, is a very humorous person. I eagerly await seeing him again in China.
