Fact is, summer break can take away a month or two of learning progress. We call this learning loss the "Summer Slide."

Research says that this loss can add up year after year which contributes to an achievement gap. This separates too many children from the opportunities they deserve. By continuing learning through the summer we can prevent the Summer Slide!

Choice 1 - Digital Online Personalized Learning Platforms

Reading: Achieve(grades 3-5)- 2 articles and activities a week, Lexia -meet 1/2 to all of weekly minutes / Razz-kids- 2 stories a week, and Dreambox-2 lessons per week, for math. Students already have logins and are able to continue their work from this school year.

Choice 2 - DOJO Bingo: This is a matrix of ideas that covers reading, writing, math, enrichment, and outdoor choices. When choosing this option we ask that you do at least 10 different ideas throughout the whole summer and save evidence of the activities. (See bingo sheet here)

Along with Dojo Bingo we recommend these Non Tech at home mathematics activities. This will help students practice math and realize how math fits into their everyday lives.

Choice 3 - Virtual Summer School: Wilson’s summer school will run Monday-Thursday beginning July 16th through August 6. The registration link was sent out on ClassDojo and is due June 5th.
