Counseling Program

School Counseling Classroom Lessons

All students benefit from school counseling classroom lessons that focus on the Waupaca Way (being respectful, responsible, safe and prepared). Students also learn Zones of Regulation skills through lessons that focus on recognizing feelings, and using strategies when needed to stay calm, focused, and ready to learn. Additional lessons taught during the school year include personal safety, social skills building, and conflict-resolution skills as well as many more!

Group Counseling

School counselors provide topic related group counseling opportunities for students who share similar concerns related to making and keeping positive friendships, changes to their family makeup, and/or a loss or death in their family.

Individual Counseling

School counselors provide individual counseling opportunities for students who need extra support academically, socially, and emotionally. Individual counseling is often brief and will aid in students overall success at school, at home and in the community.

Work at Home

Students will benefit greatly if they continue to apply the counseling strategies at home that they have learned at school. Parents will receive regular updates with information to apply strategies at home. A big thanks to all parents continuing the learning process which helps students on the path to success!
