Kristin Cudzewicz is the Director of Bands at Butler Middle School and Assistant Director of Bands at Waukesha North High School. Kristin holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College (Waverly, IA) and a Master of Arts degree in Conducting from the American Band College (Ashland, OR).

This year will be Kristin’s 12th year as an educator, with previous positions held in Argyle, Mukwonago, and Wauwatosa. Kristin is very excited to be in Waukesha and hopes to continue to build on the tradition of excellence and contribute to the growth and success of the programs.

Kristin was one of 100 Wisconsin teachers to be selected as a 2023 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellowship. She was also a recent guest on the "Band Directors Book Camp" podcast in June 2023. She holds professional memberships to the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA), and the National Band Association (NBA). 

​Outside of school, Kristin enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and iced coffee. Kristin resides in Greenfield with her husband and two children.

Mr. Thomas Battersby

Thomas Battersby is the Director of Bands at Waukesha North High School and is the Assistant Director of Bands for 6th Grade at Butler Middle School.  A native of Kenosha, Tom graduated Cum Laude from Carthage College, earning a bachelors in instrumental music education and a minor in music composition.

While at Carthage, Tom majored on trumpet and founded the music education club, where he served as President and director.  He also was an active member of the handbell club and brass quintet, for whom he organized its’ personnel and composed and arranged its’ music.

Before coming to Waukesha, Tom served as the director of bands in the Boscobel School District at Boscobel Middle/High School, where he taught instrumental music grades 6-12 for three years.
