The ensemble is comprised of 59 performers from grades 6-8, and are accompanied by their 13-member all-student band, Wolfbeat. Their 2025 production tells the story of a young ballet dancer who absolutely loves performing and pushes herself until she becomes the prima ballerina of her dance company. However, her love of being on stage is soon crushed under the weight of her own perfectionism and high expectations from a judgemental audience. Leaders is directed and arranged by Drew Firkins, with assistance from Kiley Meleán and Drew Higgins, choreography by Braxton Carr and Kail Townsend, and lighting design by Devin Tran. We must learn from her story– we don’t work hard for the approval of others, we work hard for the feeling of being onstage together. It makes us who we are. Welcome to the stage, Leaders of the Pack!
