AMBITION 2024
URBANDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Featuring 54 singers and 9 band members, Ambition is the premiere 7th grade show choir at UMS.  Ambition is excited to continue a brand new tradition of excellence with a show all about expressing yourself and being unafraid to live your own truth..

SPARK
WAUKEE SOUTH MIDDLE SCHOOL

SPARK show choir is an energetic 7th grade group from South Middle School in Waukee, IA.  Directed by Jennifer Ghelf and choreographed by Anne Chapman, this group works to put the fun into the fundamentals of quality show choir performance.  SPARK would like to send a shout to Brett Gregory, Joe Spiess, Katie Sullivan and Audrey Dix for their assistance during our season. SPARK will be performing at Waukee StarStruck, Northwest Nightfall and Urbandale Competitions this season.

DYNAMITE
ANKENY SOUTHVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL

Dynamite, from Southview Middle School in Ankeny, Iowa, is proud to be a non-auditioned show choir comprised of 75 show choir members and 14 show band members.  Dynamite's competitive season consists of Johnston Showzam, Waukee Northwest Nightfall, Urbandale Show Choir Invitational, and Indianola Ascension.  Dynamite's 2024 show reminds us that no matter what life throws at you, you can find your way and make a mark on this world.  Forget your fears and you will be unbreakable! Dynamite's show is arranged by Nick Oswald, choreographed by Kevin Chase and Grant Luther, and directed by Jill Bjorklund and David Sponder.  Dynamite wishes everyone a great competition tonight!

OVATION
OAK RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Ovation Show Choir is an auditioned, extracurricular, ensemble of about 80 7th and 8th grade students from Oak Ridge Middle School in Marion, IA. In addition to performing here today, Ovation’s 2024 competition season will include performances at Cedar Rapids Prairie, Cedar Rapids Washington, Marion, and Cedar Rapids Xavier. This year’s show tells the story of a young Wendy, whose belief in magic leads her to an amazing adventure in Neverland! 

PIZZAZZ
URBANDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Pizzazz is Urbandale Middle School's 8th Grade show choir.  Comprised of 64 singers and 8 band members, Pizzazz is excited to compete at Waukee, Johnston, Waukee Northwest, and Indianola, along with hosting the Urbandale Show Choir Invitational.  

IGNITION
ANKENY NORTHVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL

Ignition is the entry level show choir from Ankeny Northview Middle School in the Ankeny Centennial feeder system. They are an non-auditioned group of over 95 8th grade students who are involved in a variety of activities outside of the choir room. The group is backed by a 15-member band and a 5 member crew. With a focus on growth and skill development, the group is proud of the culture and climate they’ve worked to create together as they are all experiencing show choir for the first time. 

AFFINITY
URBANDALE HIGH SCHOOL

Affinity is the treble show choir at Urbandale High School.  Debuting this season, Affinity is comprised of 40 hardworking singer-dancers, 19 incredible instrumentalists, and 12 outstanding crew members.  Affinity will be bringing the slumber party fun to several competitions this season, including Johnston Showzam, Linn-Mar Supernova, and Hastings Swingin' on the River, as well as hosting the Urbandale Show Choir Invitational with Vitality and Studio.  The members of Affinity would like to wish everyone good luck today, and send their thanks to Waukee Northwest HS for hosting!

OVATION
CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL

Ovation is the treble show choir from Cedar Rapids Jefferson and is under the direction of Mr. Jesse Bunge, choreographed by Matt Watson and J. Dalton, with band preparation and direction by Mr. Matt Nicholson. Ovation would like to thank all of the parent and student volunteers who put in countless hours to help make this a truly collaborative community.

CHARISMA
IOWA CITY HIGH SCHOOL

City High’s prep show choir, Charisma, is composed of students who also participate in one of the many choral offerings of the City High vocal music department. With the outstanding support of our City High Combo and Stage Crew, Charisma is excited to present this year's show, “Elemental”. They are looking forward to an exciting show choir season, and wish all of the groups best of luck!

INFERNO
WAUKEE TIMBERLINE SCHOOL

Inferno is the 9th grade show choir from Waukee Timberline. Students in this ensemble are active in band, drama, athletics, student leadership, and numerous other activities both in and out of school. Under the direction of Katie Sullivan, choreographed by Tori Brindis, and with arrangements by Garrett Breeze, Anita Cracauer, and Brock Keiper, Inferno is made up of 59 singers and dancers, 10 band members, and 6 crew members. Inferno sends its best wishes to all of the performing schools, and hopes you enjoy the show! 

CHAOS
ANKENY CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL

Chaos is one of four show choirs at Ankeny Centennial High School, directed by Grant Becker and Samantha Thomas with choreography by Nick Quamme. Chaos is composed of 70 singer/dancers and 20 band members in grades 9-12. We are supported by the greatest community and want to recognize them for everything they do. Chaos will travel with the rest of the Centennial Show Choir program this season and cannot wait to bring their show to you. Welcome to the Freak Show! 

VITALITY
URBANDALE HIGH SCHOOL

Vitality is Urbandale High School’s JV show choir. It's 57 singers, 17 band members, and 10 crew are excited to feel all the feels with you today in their show, and they are thankful to all of the parents, students, and directors at Northwest Nightfall. Vitality is assistant-directed by Ben Schmidt, Dylan Rains, Avery Clayton, and Addie De Boer. It is under the direction of Jon Edgeton, Jeff Temple, David Breese, Brenden Ball, and Ryan Orme, with choreography by Nick Quamme. Please welcome to the stage, Urbandale Vitality!

SPIRIT
WAUKEE HIGH SCHOOL

Spirit is one of two show choirs from Waukee High School and is comprised of 46 singers and dancers, 21 band members, and 9 crew members in grades 10-12.  Many of these students are involved in a variety of activities outside of the music department. Spirit is proud to be a part of the award-winning, comprehensive vocal music program at Waukee High School. Spirit is under the direction of Tony Dam, assisted by Katie Sullivan and Caleb Clay, with show arrangements by Garrett Breeze and choreography by Jarad Voss, Tori Brindis, and Grace Pacheco.

ETERNAL RUSH
ANKENY CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL

Ankeny Centennial Eternal Rush 2024 is proud to present their show, Elizabeth. Made up of 54 singers, ER is under the direction of Emily Battani, assisted by Logan Eilers, and choreographed by Lexi Robson and Braxton Carr. They are accompanied by 18 instrumentalists and are thankful for their crew of students and parents who make their show possible! Eternal Rush is excited to share the story of Queen Elizabeth II with audiences across the Midwest, and would like to wish good luck to everyone performing today.

VOCAL LOCO-MOTION
VAN METER HIGH SCHOOL

Vocal Loco-Motion, from Van Meter, is comprised of 41 high school students under the direction of Heather Barker, and is choreographed by Aaron Malec, Charli Harkins, and Madeline Waldorf. They are accompanied by a 16-piece combo under the direction of Kyle Pape and Parker Lake. This is Vocal Locomotion’s ninth year competing and they are excited for a new season. Van Meter is attending competitions at Waukee NW, North Polk, Spirit Lake and Atlantic this Season. They would like to wish everyone good luck today. They are excited to share this year’s show with you: Lost at Sea.

VORTEX
ANKENY CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL

Ankeny Centennial is proud to introduce their newest addition to their show choir family: Vortex! Vortex is a select varsity treble ensemble consisting of 56 singers and 20 band members. We are so fortunate to have an incredible crew of students and parents that make all the magic happen onstage! Vortex is excited to compete throughout Iowa and Nebraska this year, and we want to wish the best of luck to everyone performing today! MILLENNIUM
WAUKEE HIGH SCHOOL

Millennium is the varsity show choir from Waukee High School and consists of 55 singers and dancers, 19 band members, and 9 crew members in grades 10-12.  Many of these students are involved in a variety of activities outside of the music department. Millennium is proud to be a part of the award-winning, comprehensive vocal music program at Waukee High School. Millennium is under the direction of Jeff Knutson, choreographed by Jarad Voss, Tori Brindis and Grace Pacheco.  Their show is arranged and designed by Garrett Breeze, and they are assistant-directed by Katie Sullivan and Caleb Clay.

STUDIO 2024
URBANDALE HIGH SCHOOL

Studio 2024 is the varsity show choir at Urbandale High School. One of seven performing choirs at UHS, Studio is an auditioned group of 61 singers, 17 instrumentalists, and 10 crew. Its highly-involved members are fortunate to have the support of their enthusiastic families and community. The group is directed by Ted Brimeyer, Jeff Temple, Brenden Ball, and Ryan Orme and choreographed by Stephen Todd. The combo is directed by David Breese. Studio 2024 continues a long tradition of excellence in performance. This year the choir performs at Linn-Mar Supernova, Johnston Showzam!, Northwest Nightfall, and Hastings Swingin’ on the River. They also co-host the 41st Urbandale Show Choir Invitational with Affinity and Vitality on February 9th and 10th. Studio is thrilled to perform Gilligan’s Island today and wishes all performers the best of luck!

4TH AVE. JAZZ COMPANY
IOWA CITY HIGH SCHOOL

This year marks the 44th season for 4th Ave. Jazz Company at City High! This year, 4th Ave. will attend five competitions. In addition, they will appear locally at the City High Winter and Spring shows, and joint performances with Iowa City West and Liberty High Schools. 4th Ave. is directed by Tyler Hagy, assistant directed by Sophie Good and Emma Erner, choreographed by Lexi Robson, and arranged by Steve Shanley, with combo directed by senior Edward Kenyon. 4th Ave. is proud to present their show “Norden.” Norden translates to “the North” in Norwegian. When the sky calls this community to the north, they find their true selves as they fall in love with the hope and peace Norden brings. As their past fades away, just like the lights in the sky, a new life they will remember awaits in the nights of tomorrow.

WEST SIDE DELEGATION
CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON HIGH SCHOOL

West Side Delegation is the varsity show choir at Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. West Side Delegation is one of eight choral ensembles offered in Jefferson’s music program. Its members also participate in Bella Voce, Meistersingers, and Vocal Jazz. West Side Delegation’s 2023 competition season includes Des Moines Christian’s “Illumination”, Linn-Mar’s “Supernova”, Cedar Rapids Priaire’s “Premiere,” Waukee Northwest’s “Nightfall,” Davenport Central’s “Great River Invitational”, and Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s “Raise the Roof”. West Side Delegation is under the direction of Jonathan Neswick with choreography by Ben Eklund and Matt Watson. The show band is under the direction of Matt Nicholson. West Side Delegation’s show is titled, “Work For It”, taking you through a journey of working towards something you believe in.

SPECTRUM
ANKENY CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL

Spectrum is the Varsity show choir from Ankeny Centennial High School in Ankeny, IA. Composed of 60 singer/dancers, 20 instrumentalists and 22 crew members, students in Spectrum excel in the classroom and in their community. They would like to thank their family members, volunteer organizations, Centennial administrators, rehearsal assistants Logan Eilers and Grant Galloway, accompanist Erin Stoltenberg, and their show band director Brogan Kearney for all they do to support them behind the scenes. Under the direction of Caroline Edgeton, choreographed by Lexi Robson and Braxton Carr with arrangements by Andrew Jacobson, they proudly present: Spectrum Creek.
