This class has been far more valuable that I had expected. I come from technology, and I work with it every day, so I really was hopeful when I signed up for this class that I would learn something new. I will tell you, it did not disappoint!
One of my favorite things to learn was that I have so much left to learn! The world of technology resources I was given has made the possibilities of teaching endless. Learning that not all students learn technology the same way, and being given resources to make the same content deliverable has been so valuable as an educator. I also loved learning how to integrate technology into the classroom. I teach computer software, but not all students know how to use a computer. Learning how to make the transition smoother and more successful for my students will be incredibly helpful as I enter this next school year. One of my favorite things was learning how to create curriculum resources. When I first saw the assignment, I thought, why would I create one of those?? Turns out - I didn't even know what that was! Now that I do, I will most likely use this moving forward. You will see the one I created if you click on my "curriculum resource" page.
One thing that I would like to research more is the Freeware available to educators. This is something that I knew existed, but I didn't realize to what extent. There is so much out there. I will most likely go back and save some of those lesson resources to re-educate myself.
As for what I'd have liked to cover more in depth, honestly, I was pretty happy with what we learned. By nature, I'm a researcher. If I don't know something, I will research it until I'm comfortable. Mrs. Hogan gave us so many resources to further our own education, I really can't complain!
All in all, this is an awesome class for beginners, and an even better class for those who think they "know it all", not naming any names or anything. I learned more in this class that I had expected and I could not be happier that I was part of it.
