ABOUT THE D.R.S.T.

Watkinson School's Dominican Republic Service Team began in 2010. Since then, teams of students, faculty, alumni, parents, and doctors from UConn Health spend Thanksgiving week in the La Romana Region. The team's purpose is to work with partners from The Good Samaritan Hospital to run mobile medical clinics, build hurricane-proof houses, distribute food and shoes, and other projects as needed. All of this work benefits the displaced Haitians who live and work in the sugarcane work camps of the region.
