This year, the Jr. Thespian Festival returns to beautiful CAPTIAL HIGH SCHOOL in Olympia, WA. This event will have workshops for both PERFORMERS & TECH students. In addition we'll be treated to Capital High School's fall production.
At the festival, students and teachers who are new to Thespys will have opportunities to learn more about how Jr. Thespys adjudication works. Actors and technicians who have material ready for review will have the opportunity to. workshop Thespys entries for verbal feedback from professional adjudicators. In both cases, our goal is to help you and your teacher gain a positive and thorough understanding of the rubric and how adjudicators use it to score your work.
You may attend Festival only or plan to join us at Showcase too. Cost and schedule are posted on the EVENTS page.
Registration is DUE SEPTEMBER 29th for FESTIVAL & Jr. Thespys.
This portion of our Jr. Thespys & Showcase event is FREE. Showcase is an opportunity for your school to share their work (WIPS/CUTTINGS) along side Jr. THESPY entries that you may perfom live or videotaped for submission (by Dec 4th) for formal adjudication and scoring. All ITF qualifiers will be notified via email if they are superior rated or not and eligible to compete at the international level.
You may attend Showcase and be scored for adjudication for the registration fee of $45 (Jr. Thespian) or $60 (Future Thespian). Cost and schedule are posted on the EVENTS page.

Yes. We are back to IN-PERSON during our Jr. Thespys & SHOWCASE.
We will also have feedback and workshopping skills during our Festival in the fall. Students my present their work at the in-person showcase or submit video entries to Open Water by Dec 4th. A fee of $45 (Jr. Thespian) or $60 (Future Thespian) applies to both in-person and virtual submissions.
Registration is due SEPTEMBER 29th along with the Festival, even if you are only attending Jr. Thespys to be adjudicated.
We understand that committing to a February event in October is challenging. We want our students to know they have the time to prepare after registration, but the commitment helps us to plan the event.
The two events are meant to support student progress as each student develops theatre skill throughout the year. All students who are registered for adjudication will learn more about the Thespys process at Festival, which will help them to prepare for adjuciation in the middle of the school year.
No cost for registration if your school is simply coming to Showcase & perform WIPS or Cuttings. You will need to register names for attendees.
Please make sure you register an email that is consistently checked. Please make sure you are the current Troupe or School Director. If you are new, please make sure you let us know on the registration google form.
Please contact our Jr. Treasurer above with questions about your invoice.
