The announcement listed eight inductees who will be recognized at a ceremony at the AquaTurf Club, including George Synnott, the former St. Paul teacher/coach and Berlin High principal.
Mr. Synnott, who passed away July 20, 2019, will be honored posthumously. He served as a teacher at St. Paul where he coached baseball and girls basketball teams. He led the Falcons to state championships in baseball in 1971 and 1974 along with taking the Bristol American Legion team to the state, regional and national tournaments.
He became the principal of Berlin High School and simultaneously worked as the chair of the CIAC Board of Control for which he earned CAS Citation and letter commendation. Mr. Synnott later took over as the Director of Unified Sports and contributed to growing the organization.
