Now that the air has gotten a slight chill, its time for the WINTER CONCERTS! There will be an instrumental concert on December 12th for all grades including jazz band. The chorus concert for all grades is December 17th. We interviewed Ms. DeMichiel to find out more about these concerts. Read more to find out what she said!
Did you know that for chorus concerts the students that participate need to wear all black? Ms. DeMichiel does that so everyone can look the same and so that you can focus on everyone's performance instead of one person.
This will be 7th graders' first opportunity to perform all together! Ms. DeMichiel runs the 7th grade chorus and Ms. Peck runs the 6th and 8th grade chorus. Did you know that the chorus practices together 2-3 times a week in order to prepare? We also interviewed Ms. Lauria! Some songs that will performed at the 6th grade band concert include:
Procession of Heroes
Flight of The Banshee
Dragon Dance
And Rockin' ol ' St.Nick
And remember BAND STUDENTS: Wear your band shirts for the performance!!! Also, remember to wear black pants and black shoes if you can!!!
Did you know that Swift band members practice in different groups or classes and then practice performing all together? They have to get lots of practice!
Fun Fact:
If you are not sure about the difference between band and strings, all band instruments are to the left. They include the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.
