When 3D printing began in the district nearly 5 years ago, we never envisioned putting our skills to work in this way. Eight staff members from across the district are actively involved in this effort. There are now educators and students involved from Alexandria Bay, Carthage, General Brown, Gouverneur, Indian River, Lowville, Lyme, and SUNY Jefferson who have joined this great effort, printing components for NIH approved masks.
1,200 face shields were being provided to Samaritan Medical Center alone and many more shields and ear savers have been supplied to support PPE needs throughout the greater region.

Each webinar features a different NOAA expert/topic and a moderated question and answers session throughout so that kids can get a peek at what NOAA scientists do in all the various NOAA offices. These webinars are geared toward grades 2-8 and allow students to connect with scientists as well as give them a safe place to interact while socially isolating. Webinars are streamed via GoToWebinar, are between 45-60 minutes in length, and are recorded. They are then posted on the WHOI YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1CGd4Scv4GICVRODGA8RRvzocNN1lL8H) where they are available with both English and Spanish captioning.
