Global History through Film is a semester long course that will involve watching movies and critiquing them for historical accuracy. The overall goal of this class is to revisit time periods and events throughout Global History using Hollywood movies and comparing the movie's plot to the Historical Record. Please be advised, some of the movies are rated R due to intense battle scenes, occasional profanity and brief periods of nudity. All students are required to have a signed permission slip to watch the R rated films. You can get a copy of the Class Syllabus (left) and the Parent Permission Slip on this webpage.

Please note, some of the movies for this class are rated “R” due to violence and battle sequences and occasional profanity. However, I believe the value of these movies offsets the rating. If you feel these movies are not appropriate for your student, they will not be allowed in the room for the viewing, but will still be responsible for a project covering the time period in order to receive credit for class. Students may also choose to drop the course and select a different elective.
