Welcome to our classroom! My name is Mr. DeTomi, and I’m so excited to be one of your sixth-grade teachers this year. Mrs. Richardson and I co-teach all year together. This is my seventh year teaching sixth grade and my tenth year in education, and I truly believe this is the best grade out there!
Outside the classroom, I live a pretty adventurous and down-to-earth life. I have a hobby farm filled with goats, chickens, and ducks that keep me on my toes. I also love to hike, garden, and spend as much time outdoors as possible—there’s nothing better than fresh air and hard work outside. When I’m not exploring trails or working in the garden, I teach 11th-grade U.S. History and Government, diving deep into our nation’s past with older students.
As the oldest of six siblings, I’ve always taken pride in leading with kindness, responsibility, and high expectations. In our classroom, we believe in pushing each other to be our best, not just academically, but as thoughtful, creative, and compassionate people. We hold ourselves, our students, and our colleagues to high standards because we know we’re all capable of great things when we work together.
Get ready for a year full of learning, growing, and a few adventures along the way
We can’t wait to share it with you!
