Ms. Conceison (ELA)

My name is Ms. Conceison and I will be your English teacher. I went to Watertown Middle School and graduated from Watertown High School. I went to college at Harvard and graduate school at Boston College. This will be my 18th year teaching at the middle school and I can't wait to meet you!

My son, Casey, is seven years old and is starting first grade at the Hosmer School. We have a ten year old dog named Kelsey who loves to nap, snuggle, and people watch from the porch.

In my free time, I love to read. I also really enjoy crafting -- this summer I learned how to loom knit and made several hats! I also love embroidery and cross-stitch. You’ll likely notice that I LOVE coffee - specifically, Dunkin’ Donuts flavored iced coffee. It has to be iced, even on the coldest days!

I know this year feels very different in many ways, but remember that we are here to help and support you. This year might be full of some very beautiful surprises!

Ms. Baildon (ESL)

My name is Ms. Baildon and I am an ESL teacher. That means that I teach English to students who speak other languages. You might also see me in math, social studies or science because I work together with your other teachers.

I grew up in Germany and did not start learning English until high school. I love traveling, exploring new countries, and learning different languages. That’s probably why I ended up living in London, England for 10 years, and now in Massachusetts. I also really like to read and go for long walks in nature.

I am very excited to be working with you this year. If you do speak another language, I hope you will teach me a little. This is going to be an interesting school year but I want you to know that I am always here to help!

Ms. Ferguson (Science)

Greetings Earthlings! My name is Ms. Ferguson and I am the Science teacher in Cluster 2. I have a degree in Biology from Simmons College and this will be my sixteenth year at WMS.

Obviously, I love science of all kinds, but I also enjoy cooking, science fiction (Doctor Who), dogs, and my adorable guinea pigs.

This year, I look forward to doing fun experiments with you while building your critical thinking skills.

Mr. McDermott (Social Studies)

Hey people! My name is Mr. McDermott and I will be your Social Studies teacher this year! Similarly to Ms. Conceison, (who once upon a time was actually MY teacher!) I grew up in Watertown, went to the middle school, and graduated from WHS. This will be my 7th year teaching at WMS. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, reading, going for walks around the Charles River, listening to music, and watching TV.

This year is certainly going to be different compared to your previous years in school. But the other teachers and I are determined to fill it with just as much learning and fun as possible no matter where we are!

Ms. Tammaro (Math)

Hello! I'm Ms. Tammaro, the cluster 2 math teacher. I went to Smith College and then Boston University for graduate school. This is going to be my fifth year at WMS.

I love having fun with math. I treat problems like puzzles that we can work together to solve. If you don't love math already, I hope I can help you see how fun it can be.

Outside of teaching, I spend my time reading, listening to musical theater songs, and playing board games.

Ms. Murphy (Student Services)

Hello there! My name is Mrs. Murphy and I am one of the 6th grade inclusion teachers. This is my second year teaching at WMS, my fourth year teaching as a Special Education Teacher. I am thrilled to be working with middle schoolers - especially 6th graders!

A little about me - I am a mother of two, have two cats and a bunny named Luna. There is nothing I love more than being outdoors doing anything athletic. When I can, I also enjoy creating, especially painting.

This year will be different for us all and while that may be, please know all your teachers are here to support you in whatever ways we can. Please don't hesitate to ask questions as they come up! Looking forward to meeting you soon!
