How to add text in Inkscape

How to import a picture to Inkscape

1. Find a picture you want from google or a picture you have of your own.



2. Download the image to the desktop by right clicking. You should see these options:








3. Click “Save Image As”

4. An option will come up asking you where you would like to save it. Make sure you select “Desktop”

5. Click “Save.” Open up Inkscape. The “Document Properties” should be updated with how big you want the cut to be.

6. Go to “File” located at the left upper corner and click “Import”

7. Before importing the image, make sure you know the name of the image, so it's easier to find when selecting the file. Once you click “Import,” another pop up will be on your screen. Click “Ok” if it shows up:

8. Adjust the image to the size you prefer and you should be good to continue.

How to save your SVG and PDF to your Google Drive

Since you’re not guaranteed to have the same exact MacBook every time you use InkScape, you will need to save your work to your Google Drive. First, save your work as a PDF and an SVG in InkScape.

Once you’ve saved your work, open up your Google Drive. At the top left, there will be a blue tab. Click on it and find “file upload”.

Click on “file upload”, and find your two files, the SVG version and the PDF version… Click open.

Your files will now upload to your google docs

Go to “My Drive” to find your two files. Now they are saved to your drive.
