Farm To School

Overview and History:

Farm to School is a national program. The USDA's Farm to School program was first announced the School Nutrition Association National Convention in 2011. Currently, the USDA's program supports the program through grantmaking on a national level. Most states have their own initiatives, this includes Massachusetts of course, and many benefit from the USDA grants.

Massachusetts has a robust Farm to School program which includes supports for school gardens, school garden to cafeteria and Food Service initiatives such as Harvest of the Month.
