Educational technology underpins teaching and learning in K-12 schools, and digital resources provide students with a variety of ways to demonstrate their understanding, foster their independence as learners, and access the world beyond their classroom.
With that understanding, our WPS Digital Learning & Libraries Department’s focus is to develop the digital literacy and information literacy skills of all students and staff in order to promote equitable learning experiences. We do this by:
Providing ongoing professional learning opportunities for staff
Assisting teachers and students with the integration of educational technology through instruction
Developing our Watertown Public Schools library collections so that every student:
Sees themselves represented and celebrated through the literature selections we collectively make
Has access to literature that reflects a range of cultural environments and perspectives
