My name is Carly Mandell, and I am an 11th grader at Watershed School. My passion is music. I love to sing, play ukulele, guitar, and piano. I’m not too good at guitar and piano, though. I chose to be a part of the Boulder Buddy Project because I love to work with kids. I worked at a sleepaway camp last summer, I babysit consistently, and next fall I will be interning at Temple Grandin School to work with kids with special needs.
I began singing lessons at only 6 years old at Wildflower School of Voice. Since then, the name has changed to Boulder Music School, but I still take lessons at the same place, 10 years later. I have lessons every week because I am always motivated to improve my skills. I have participated in many musicals since I was little. Some put on by the school I was attending at the time, and some at an outside acting company. I taught myself how to play the ukulele about 3 years ago. I used online videos and chord sheets that were found online as well.
