Hi, I am Jennifer Schlader, I go by Ms. Jenny in class. My husband, Jeremy and I have 3 children; Abby who is 11 years old, Caleb who is 8 years old and Burkley who is 1 year old. This is my 15th year of teaching, I taught at River Hills for 10 years and this is my 5th year with Waterloo School District. I taught at Elk Run as a Special Education Inclusion Teacher for the last 4 years and this is my first year at Kittrell as a General Education Teacher. I received my bachelor’s degree from University of Northern Iowa in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. After teaching at River Hills for many years I decided to go back to school and get my Masters in Severe and Profound Education. I love spending time with family and friends, taking pictures, camping, frisbee golfing, watching the Cubs and Hawkeye football. Carolyn Bailey
Hi, I am Carolyn Bailey, I go by Ms. Carolyn in class. I have two sons and eight grandchilden. I was born and raised in Waterloo and I'm the second oldest of five children. I graduated from West High, moved to Oakland, California to go to Merrit College and entered into the Child Development Program for a couple of years. Upon being homesick I moved back to Waterloo and enrolled in Hawkeye College to finish my AA degree in Child Development. I worked at Grin and Grow Daycare Preschool for 16 yrs . In 2007, I applied at Head Start and started working as an Assistant Teacher at Lou Henry. In 2010, I started working at Kittrell and this is my 10th year at Head Start. My hobbies are decorating, traveling and hanging out with family. Teaching is my passion and joy in life.
