About me

Rodger Luttio is the director of bands at Waterford Union High School. The 2023-24 school year is Luttio's third year teaching in Waterford and his 14th year overall. Luttio teaches the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, AP Music Theory and Music Technology courses.  In addition, he teaches marching band, pep band, is the pit director for major musical productions and is an assistant distance track coach.

Luttio holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He has also earned a Master's Degree in Music Education from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago, Ill.

Luttio's career has been primarily in the international realm teaching in the Philippines, China, Abu Dhabi, Brazil, and Rwanda. He has had students perform in various honors ensembles including Dorian Band Festival, Winona State University Honors Band, the AMIS middle school honors band in Panama, the Graded Jazz festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and honors festivals at Carnegie Hall.

Luttio lives in Waterford with his wife, Marina, and their dogs Caipi and Lucy.
