Dear Waterford High School Families,
I hope this email finds you well. Here are some reminders and updates about what is scheduled for the next few weeks:
Powder Puff Football at Homecoming: Get ready for an exciting twist at this year’s Homecoming football game! Tonight we’ll be hosting our Powder Puff Football Game during halftime of the Lancers’ Homecoming football game. It’s going to be a fun-filled night of friendly competition and school spirit, so make sure you stick around during halftime to cheer on our teams!
Homecoming Dance: Our “Under the Sea” Homecoming Dance will be held tomorrow on Saturday, October 5th in the Lancer Gym from 7:00-10:00pm. Tickets are $15.00 and will be sold the week before online or during all three lunch waves. Tickets will also be sold at the door for a cost of $25.00 (cash or checks only).
WPS Device Protection Program: Last call to purchase WPS device protection by Friday, October 18th. This will not be offered again this school year. Class of 2027 Fundraiser: The WHS Class of 2027 is selling Lancer Nation flags and garden signs. All orders will need to be placed online by clicking on this link. The website will remain open the month of October. Delivery expected by December 1st. You will have an option to choose free delivery to the school or ship to you for an extra charge (flat rate $11.50 per order). Safe Futures Safe Walk 2024: In support of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Safe Futures will host a Safe Walk on Sunday, October 6 at 9:00am at the Waterford Duck Pond Park. Student, family, and community participation is encouraged to help support this wonderful organization. Message from Safe Grad: The Comedy for a Cause Show for WHS Safe Grad Party will be on Wednesday, October 9th at My Little Ladies Farm in Quaker Hill. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show will start at 7:00pm. Tickets will be $35.00 and can be purchased online at this link or in person at GG at Home https://ggathome.com/
College & Career Fair: On Wednesday, October 9th, juniors and seniors will have an opportunity to visit with college and career representatives from 12:45-2:10pm in the Field House.
Music Department Concert: If you want to see an evening of great musical performances, join us on Wednesday, October 16th, at 7:30 pm for our first concert of the year. It will feature performances by the WHS Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Choir, and Chamber Orchestra. It is always a great night, and we hope you can join us for this free concert in the WHS Auditorium.
All Parents Welcome: Our next Parents Advisory Coffee meeting of the school year is on Wednesday, October 30th, from 7:30-8:30 am in the Library Reading Room. Please join the WHS administrative team for an hour’s conversation and coffee. We will share some information about the school year and some of our upcoming events, and as always, we will set aside some time for any questions you may have. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
