Subject: WHS Updates – May 1, 2026
Dear Waterford High School Families,
Below are a few important updates and upcoming events to share with you:
Educator Appreciation Week, May 4–8
Next week, we celebrate all the incredible individuals who make Waterford High School such a special place. At Lancer Nation, we believe it takes a team—from teachers and administrators to school counselors and related services staff, paraprofessionals, substitutes, custodians, security, kitchen staff, administrative assistants, our school nurses, and so many more. Every person who works in our school plays a vital role in shaping the student experience, fostering a positive environment, and helping our community thrive. While there are specific days throughout the year to recognize many of these roles, next week we celebrate everyone who dedicates their time, energy, and heart to WHS. Please take a moment to say thank you to those who’ve made a difference in your journey!
Waterford High School’s Roundtable Theatre Presents
The Tony Award-winning Musical Dear Evan Hansen, book by Steven Levenson, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Performances will be held in the WHS Auditorium on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens, available through GoFan (traditional seating). Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of a seventeen-year-old Evan Hansen, who has felt invisible his entire life, and the consequences he faces after a tragedy thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy. This acclaimed Broadway musical won six 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and explores themes of suicide, depression, and social media harassment; parental guidance is suggested. For questions, contact director Patrick Barry at pbarry@waterfordschools.org.

Message from Safe Grad
Silent Auction Alert: Bid on 2 tickets to Matt Rife on September 5 and dinner for two at TAO in our final fundraiser of the year. Bidding runs from May 1 at 3PM to May 3 at 8 PM. Details and bidding can be found HERE.
Senior Parents: An important email regarding the Safe Grad event went out last week. If you have not received our email and have checked your spam folder, please message us at WHSSGO@gmail.com. EVERY parent of a student in the Class of 2026 needs to complete a response form that was issued in that email, REGARDLESS of attending or not attending the Safe Grad event.
Junior Parents: We are looking for help on June 18 from approximately 6:00-9:30 PM. Please sign up HERE ASAP. While the senior parents are attending graduation, we rely heavily on the support of the next class to ensure we are ready for our Safe Grad kick off! It also gives you a great chance to see what's ahead for you next year!!!
Next Meeting: Tuesday, May 19 @ 6:00 PM in the WHS Library
All Parents Welcome – Parents Advisory Coffee
Our last Parents Advisory Coffee of the schoolyear will take place on Wednesday, June 3, from 7:30–8:30AM in the Library Reading Room. Please join the WHS administrative team for coffee and conversation.
