Subject: WHS Updates – August 24, 2026
Dear Waterford High School Families,
I hope you all enjoyed a restful summer and made the most of your time off. As we get ready to begin the 2026-2027 school year, I want you to know that we share in your excitement and anticipation. A new school year brings new opportunities, and we're looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Lancer Nation!
Ready, Set, Rodeo!
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 26, and we’re kicking off the year with a little extra fun! On Wednesday, students will take part in our Ready, Set, Rodeo! first-day celebration during an extended advisory from 10:15–11:30 AM. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy line dancing, a lasso competition, cowboy boot toss, horseshoes, potato sack and hobby horse races, Cactus Spike Ball, cornhole, photo and bandana stations, snacks at our “Chuck Wagon,” and more!
Students are also encouraged to get into the rodeo spirit and dress for the occasion. We’ll be holding a Best Dressed Contest, with two students earning prizes for showing off their best western-inspired look. So, break out the boots, hats, bandanas, and rodeo gear!
It’s a fun way for our school community to reconnect, welcome new students, and start the year with some Waterford spirit. We can’t wait to see everyone back and ready to saddle up for a great year!
