Paraprofessional Training

This is a site for all Waterford paraprofessionals to learn how to use the district's Learning Management Systems (LMS) as well as other communication tools to be used with families. Google classroom is the LMS for grades 3-12 and Seesaw is the LMS for grades PK-2. There are additional professional development opportunities available below.

Training for Seesaw PreK-2

This is a side presentation that will introduce you to Seesaw, the Learning Management System we are using for distance learning in grades PreK-2. It is meant to show you the basics of Seesaw and includes an interactive tutorial where you will use the tools that students use. This will better help you support your student/s on this LMS with their daily work. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GET THE CERTIFICATE MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO.


Seesaw Professional Development for grades PreK-2

You will find a many tutorials here to help you understand what is possible with Seesaw. It is divided into three sections: Seesaw Beginners, Seesaw Beyond the Basics, and Even More with Seesaw. These videos are not required, but it may help you with specific questions you may have as you work with your student/s.

You may want to turn off notifications if you are receiving too many that assignments have been posted. There is not way to set them up specifically for your student, so you will be getting notifications from the whole class.

The below courses are an opportunity to further your knowledge of Google. They are free to anyone interested and would be a valuable training when working with students. You are not required to take the official Google Certification Tests unless you want to. Upon completion of the course work, please contact Amelia Santangelo.

By reading, watching videos, and doing activities, you'll learn how to integrate Google in the classroom. This is a resource that is available free to anyone on a variety of Google topics and will lead you to Google tutorials. This course covers Google Docs, Google Account, Google Drive, Google Classroom, Gmail and more Google apps. This would be particularly helpful when working with students in grades 3-12.

This course is an advanced course for a more seasoned user. You can take this course by reading, watching videos, and doing activities, you'll learn cutting-edge strategies for integrating Google in the classroom. If you are interested in a deeper dive into Google's tools, this is the right course for you.
