• There are twice as many illiterate adult women in the world than illiterate adult men.
• In China, three of every four illiterate adults are women.
• A child with illiterate parents is six times more likely to become an illiterate adult than a child with literate parents.

How do you persuade a person to work many hours learning a skill which they believe they do not need?

Our Solution

Offer the opportunity to learn in a way which is convenient, accessible, free, AND FUN!

We will be using American movies and television shows, both dubbed and subtitled in the local language, to teach reading. Each student begins with a small set of available movies and shows, but as they develop and demonstrate proficiency, the library available to them becomes larger.
