Christmas in the High Country is a time many look forward to all year. From the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Jones house, to new holiday treats featured at local businesses, and seasonal ballets, the High Country is home to many highly anticipated festivities.
Many struggle during the colder months, but they are not forgotten. Mr. WHS supports families in need, Angel Trees are set up to help children all over the country, and people support local shops and Christmas tree farms more than ever to help our local economy.

Watauga High School sponsors an annual holiday market where local vendors sell hand-made goods in preparation for the season. In addition to these artists, many organizations at the High School create goods to sell for funds for their clubs and for charity causes. National Art Honors Society, Young Women Christian Athletes, and other student organizations set up at the craft fair this year.

Watauga High School hosts an annual fundraiser for local families, where students compete to be crowned Mr. WHS. The holiday season is a difficult time of year for many families in our area, but all proceeds help local families in need. This year, they focused on families displaced or struggling due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene.
