Seniors of the 2025 graduating class have experienced a long four years at Watauga High School and reflect on their high school experience.
Throughout high school, seniors have changed, grown, and faced challenges that have built up who they are today. Balancing academic pressure with their social lives, their final year marks the culmination of their high school experiences and a turning point in their lives. As graduation approaches, seniors look back on the highs and lows of their high school life and prepare to move into the future. With this in mind, we sent out a survey asking Watauga seniors to reflect on their high school experiences and voice any opinions or recommendations they have for the school.
The first question we asked was about the seniors’ favorite and least favorite high school years, with the results shown in the pie charts below.
We then asked the seniors to describe the most memorable aspect of their high school experience.
“Getting a car,” said Samuel Broman-Fulks.
Students often express a sense of freedom that comes with owning and driving a car—the ability to go where they want, when they want. Others, however, pointed to their academic endeavors as the most memorable part of high school.
“Surviving chemistry,” groaned Caden Duda.
After reflecting on their experiences, we also asked the seniors if there was anything they would like to improve or change at Watauga High School.
“Less sitting down hours for class,” said Annabelle Stewart.
To end on a more introspective note, the final question in our survey asked seniors to sum up their entire high school experience into a single word.
“Growth,” responded Amber Watson, “High school is where you face challenges, make memories, and slowly figure out who you are. Every class, conversation, and experience helps shape you into the person you’re becoming.”
Below is a shortened version of the survey we sent to the seniors, focusing on only their favorite and least favorite high school years. Responses to this form are represented in the pie charts above.
