Nathaniel Grey is a 9th grader at Watauga who loves to write poetry. He says that "some of my other poems take inspiration from Helen Hopkins formatting."
Grey's poem are usually about expressing his feelings.
"There isn't really a reoccurring theme other than the present happening I suppose. I think I'm trying to evoke a feeling of...connection with the reader," Grey says.
Like many writers, poetry provides an opportunity for self-expression.
"I like to explain how my feelings are in poetry because I'm not too good at doing so otherwise so I hope that people can understand better this way, " says Grey.
