Farming in the High Country

From the pine trees to the tobacco leaves, North Carolina remains one of the most productive states in the U.S. when it comes down to agriculture and crop production. I decided to capture the hidden world behind the first crunch, gulp, or sniff that makes up so much of our best moments. Ranging from Ashe to Avery County, I sought to bring light to the contributions made by these hard working individuals of all different backgrounds, age, and experience. In each interview I came to the same conclusion; each product we consume tells a beautiful story of work, family, and hardship. Now more than ever, I felt the need to uncover these stories and bring them to life.
