Middle school students can often feel disconnected from real-world math applications. The overall goal of this project is to allow students to experience authentic problem solving that demands mathematical precision, fluency, and understanding. Simultaneously, this project's goal was to also give students the opportunity to give back to our school and outside community. This course will allow students, through real-life applications of math content, to successfully create products for themselves and others. Simultaneously, the course will encourage students to think creatively and further develop mathematical reasoning skills, while also working within constraints. This project will allow students, through real-life applications of math content, to successfully create products for themselves and as a way to give back to others.
